You can place the computer in clean boot state and check if the newer version of driver works fine.
Have you checked the driver if it is for Windows 8.1 and for the same computer model that you have?. This could be due to driver incompatibility or even any third party software conflict. Is this a driver issue? or hardware issue? i do not know where to start or who to go to for help. one time i was able to get as far as loading back into World of Warcraft before crashing and completely freezing again. any attempt to reinstall any nvidiaĭrivers (tried some from february, may, november) results in near immediate crashing. I finally figured out to boot into safe mode and run Display Driver Uninstaller to completely remove all Nvidia drivers, which when restarting leaves me with Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. This, it just went from completely fine to completely broken. there were NO issues or warning signs before 
then, trying to load into windows doesn't even work until after a couple times booting, freezing, and restarting or being hard shut down.
it doesn't even bluescreen as far as i can tell. suddenly yesterday (about 3 to 4 hours into a World of Warcraft session) my display drivers are crashing non stop until eventually they are unable to recoverĪnd the computer freezes. So I updated my Nvidia drivers to the most recent driver about a week ago, and had no problems.
